“If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.” - 1 Peter 4:11 (CSB)
We believe that being a disciple of Jesus Christ involves four characteristics (worship, discipleship, service, and evangelism). As a local church and as the Christians who comprise it, we respond to God's amazing grace by helping each other grow as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who embrace and live out these characteristics more and more as we spend our lives for the glory of our Lord.
One characteristic is that all Christ followers "Serve the Body of Christ". By serve we mean doing something for your brothers and sisters in Christ that fits you AND stretches you at the same time. Out of that apparent contradiction comes the beauty of self-sacrificing, Christ-imitating service to others. As 1 Peter 4:11 teaches us, each believer in Christ has been given spiritual gifts through the Holy Spirit to use for the benefit of the local church. It is our goal to have each member active in service so they can experience the joy, the blessings, and the lessons we can only receive by giving.
Let's serve together!
